A Hot Weekend in Spain and Le Cap d’Agde

Last weekend was one for the books.

With the summer sun blazing, we decided to make a little escape to Figueres, Spain—a quick trip over the border for some shopping and a change of scenery. The heat was intense, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the vibrant energy of the town. A few bags (and maybe a few guilty pleasures) later, we headed back toward the coast, where a different kind of indulgence awaited.

Back in Cap d’Agde, we treated ourselves to dinner at one of our favorite Asian restaurants. The sushi was fresh and full of flavor, the oysters from Bouzigues chilled to perfection—a contrast to the scorching day we’d had. But the real luxury came later that night: for the first time this summer, we slept in the blissful coolness of our newly installed air conditioning unit. Simple pleasures make all the difference, especially in July.

Sunday was all about sun and freedom. We spent the day at the Village Naturiste, starting with a dip in the sea and soaking up the easy, open vibe of the beach. Later, as the sun began to ease off, we stepped into the spa—a unique blend of sauna, music, and an uninhibited lifestyle atmosphere. Let’s just say the energy was hot in all the right ways.

Weekends like these remind us how good life can be when you embrace the heat, the cool, and everything in between.

From Cap d’Agde to Manosque through countryside

Last Saturday, after a satisfying lunch at a restaurant, we embarked on a scenic journey by car from Cap d’Agde back to Manosque, choosing to take the secondary roads for a more leisurely and picturesque drive.

The route led us through charming small villages and towns, each offering a glimpse of local life. Sete and Carnon Plage stood out, both as quaint seaside towns with a relaxed atmosphere, while the surrounding resorts, including golf resorts, added a touch of elegance to the landscape.

One of the highlights of the trip was passing through the beautiful region of Camargue. The natural beauty here was simply breathtaking—vast expanses of wetlands, unique flora, and the occasional sight of wild horses. It felt as though we were driving through a postcard, the serene landscape captivating us with every turn.

Along the way, we made a few stops to buy fresh fruits directly from local farmers. The produce was delicious, bursting with flavor, and a true reflection of the region’s rich agricultural heritage. This added a special touch to the journey, making it not just a road trip but also a culinary discovery.

The combination of stunning scenery, quaint villages, and the simple pleasure of enjoying fresh fruit made this trip unforgettable. Traveling by car allowed us to savor the beauty and authenticity of the French countryside in a way that would have been impossible on a faster, more direct route like a motorway.

Taking responsibility by voting

Taking responsibility is a serious thing!

By voting for Putin these days, Russian citizens do confirm that they support the war, oligarchs and criminal government and shall take full responsibility for their actions from now on…

Hockey in Gap

We went to watch ice hockey game in the French town of Gap last Friday!

So the season is officially opened. The Gap Rapaces played against the Canadian Team from Trois Rivieres. Not the NHL game of course but of a decent quality. We liked it! Fights, lot of goals… All what we like in hockey! And yes, Canadians won. 🙂 As usual. 🙂
